This class is held in person at Washington County Disability, Aging and Veteran Services at 5240 NE Elam Young Parkway, suite 300, Hillsboro OR 97124, Hillsboro.

QPR (Question, Persuade, and Refer) for veterans is an evidence-based suicide prevention training adapted specifically for military culture, service members, veterans and their families (SMVF).  Learn three core skills—Question, Persuade, Refer—to help individuals recognize warning signs and connect someone at risk with professional help. 

KEY COMPONENTS COVERED IN TRAINING:

  • How to Question, Persuade and Refer someone who may be suicidal

  • How to get help for yourself or learn more about preventing suicide

  • The common causes of suicidal behavior

  • The warning signs of suicide

  • How to get help for someone in crisis
