Older adults have the highest rate of suicide among all age groups in the United States according to recent data. This skills-based QPR training program is designed enable those who live and work with older adults to recognize suicide warning signs and clues, and respond effectively.

PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING:

2 CEU hours available from the National Association of Social Workers

Location: Beaverton City Library (12375 SW 5th St, Beaverton, OR 97005)

Safety: QPR teaches a specific suicide prevention first aid intervention. Some of the content of the curriculum may activate troubling feelings and thoughts. The class is not a form of counseling, therapy, or support group. It is up to your discretion to decide whether attending QPR training is ok for you at this time.

  • If you are a suicide loss or attempt survivor, we suggest delaying taking QPR for at least one year.
  • If you have questions about whether this class is a good fit for you at this time, please email the coordinator (below) at least two days prior to the class.
