ASIST (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training)
General information:
The ASIST workshop takes place in person over two consecutive days from 8:30am-4:30pm.
Attendance for the full two days is mandatory, and late arrivals/early departures are not
accepted.
Every participant who attends the full training will receive a certificate of completion with hours
stated on the certificate. Additionally, 13 free CEUs for licensed mental health providers and
DPSST first responders are provided. More information about ASIST may be found here:

Learning Objectives:
● Understand the ways personal and societal attitudes affect views on suicide and
interventions
● Provide guidance and suicide first-aid to a person having thoughts of suicide in ways
that meet their individual safety needs
● Identify the key elements of an effective suicide safety plan and the actions required to
implement it
● Appreciate the value of improving and integrating suicide prevention resources in the
community at large
● Recognize other important aspects of suicide prevention including life promotion and
self-care
