DESCRIPTION:The veteran death by suicide rate is over 50% higher than non-v
 eteran US adults. 73% of veteran suicide deaths involved a firearm.\n\n~ G
 et Trained to Save Lives ~\n\n 	Location: Virtual via zoom\, a link to reg

 d to Help booking confirmation email\n 	This free virtual 2.5 hour Veteran
  QPR course will include information about:\n\n 	Veterans and risk factors
  that may contribute to the higher rate of suicide\n 	How firearms add add
 itional risk and steps we can take to lower that risk without infringing o
 n firearm owner rights\n 	How firearm owners lead the way in firearm safet
 y\, and together we can make a difference in preventing suicide.\n 	The co
 urse will also provide QPR training\, a nationally recognized suicide prev
 ention practice. QPR stands for Question\, Persuade\, and Refer – 3 simp
 le steps that anyone can learn to help save a life from suicide.\n\n\n 	Th
 is FREE training is hosted by Washington County Veteran Services and is o
 pen to all community members.\n\nSafety\, please note:\n\nSome of the cont
 ent of the curriculum may activate troubling feelings and thoughts. The cl
 ass is not a form of counseling\, therapy\, or support group. It is up to 
 your discretion to decide whether attending QPR training is ok for you at 
 this time.\n\n 	If you are a suicide loss or attempt survivor\, we suggest
  delaying taking QPR for at least one year.\n 	If you have questions abou
