DESCRIPTION:Question\, Persuade\, Refer (QPR) (2 hours) is a brief\, eviden
 ce-based suicide prevention training that teaches community members how to
  recognize the warning signs of suicide\, ask directly about suicidal thou
 ghts\, persuade someone to seek help\, and refer them to appropriate resou
 rces. Often described as the “CPR of suicide prevention\,” QPR equips 
 participants with simple\, practical skills that can be used with friends\
 , family members\, coworkers\, students\, or community members.\n\nPartici
 pants learn common risk factors and warning signs\, how to have a direct a
 nd compassionate conversation about suicide\, and how to connect someone t
 o professional or community-based support. QPR is appropriate for a wide r
 ange of audiences\, including youth-serving professionals\, healthcare pro
 viders\, faith leaders\, employers\, and community members. Additionally\,
  participants will learn how to have respectful\, effective conversations 
 about reducing access to lethal means—particularly firearms and medicati
 ons—during times of suicide risk. Research shows that creating time and 
 distance between a person in crisis and lethal means can save lives.\n\nLo
