 e:  Please note that the ASIST workshop is a two-day in-person class\, 
 and as a participant\, you must attend the full training (8:30 am-5 pm) o
 n both days to receive a certificate and CEU's.\nParking Instructions:  P
 lease use street parking. The parking lot is very limited and if you do so
 \, please make sure you review the signs in the parking lot since half is 
 reserved for the apartments and unauthorized vehicles will be towed.\n\nWh
 o Should Attend?\n\n 	Anyone aged 16 and over is encouraged to take ASIST.
  It provides a suicide first-aid intervention model for relationships with
  family\, friends and co-workers.\n 	It can also be incorporated into more
  formal helping roles such as counseling\, health care\, crisis services\,
  or chaplaincy. You can play a vital role in creating Networks of Safety f
 rom suicide.\n\nWhat Will You Learn?\n\n 	In ASIST you will learn how to h
 elp someone thinking about suicide develop a personalized SafePlan to keep
  safe-for-now and connect with further help.\n 	Learn to apply a Safety Fr
 amework to guide the development of this SafePlan through a collaborative 
 helping relationship.\n 	You will also consider how personal and community
  attitudes about suicide affect someone's openness to seek help and your a
 bility to provide it.\n 	This workshop will increase your willingness\, co
 nfidence\, and capacity to provide suicide first-aid.\n\n\n\nHow Will You 
 Learn?\n\n 	We aim to provide a safe learning environment.\n 	Trainer pres
 entations and powerful videos to stimulate discussion and support learning
 \n 	Extensive opportunities for skills practice\n 	Shared participant expe
 riences that enrich learning\n 	Trainer-facilitated workgroups to optimize
  participation\n\nWhat Else\n\n 	Direct and honest discussion about suicid
 e is encouraged. While sometimes challenging\, this prepares helpers to op
 enly approach people with thoughts of suicide\, and to help them keep safe
