  Skills Training.\n\nPlease note that the ASIST training is a two-day c
 lass\, it is delivered in person and participants are required to attend
  the full class on both days.   Due to national standards\, there are n

 ining teaches a specific suicide prevention intervention.  Some of the co
 ntent of the curriculum may trigger troubling feelings and thoughts. The 
 class is not a form of counseling\, therapy or support group.   If you a
 re a suicide attempt survivor or have experienced a loss by suicide\, we 
 suggest delaying taking the ASIST class for at least a year.   If you a
 re currently experiencing thoughts of suicide\, please contact Clackamas 
 County Crisis Line at 503 655-8585 or the National Suicide Prevention Lif
 eline at 1-800-273-8255\; they are both available 24 hours a day and 7 day
 s a week.  If you have questions about whether this class is a good fit f
 or you at the present time\, please call Kathy Turner\, Coordinator at 50
 3 742-5962.   Thank you.\n\nPlease Plan Your Commute:  Please plan your
  commute so that you have time to park\, make your way to the training roo
 m and can be seated by 8:30 am.   Thank you for your consideration. The
  training process will begin promptly at 8:30 am and ends at 4:30 pm - pl
 ease note participants who do not arrive on time may not be admitted to th
 e class.\n\nParking/Transportation: Visitors' parking is available in the
  designated visitors' lots adjacent to the Development Services Buildin
 g on Beavercreek that can be accessed from Library Court off of Beavercre
 ek Road\; parking for Clackamas County employees is available in the desig
 nated employee parking lots. Thank you for your cooperation! For bus and l

 unch is on your own and there will be a 60-minute lunch break.   There a
 re numerous restaurants within driving distance of the training location. 
 Please feel free to bring snacks\, lunch\, water bottle\, eating utensils 
 and anything else you will need for the day. Water fountains are available
  in the building.\n\nAttire: Please feel free to wear comfortable clothes
 .  The temperature in the training room can vary and you may want to laye
 r clothing in case it is warm or chilly.\n\nSeating:  Some people may pre
 fer to bring a seat cushion or pad to increase their comfort being seated 
 a large part of the day on conference room chairs.\n\nRegistration: Pleas
 e note that classes are limited in size to provide the best experience for
  the trainees and to provide the training to fidelity. For this reason\, r
 egistrations are specific to the individual who has signed up to attend th

  and to receive certification.    The ASIST curriculum is designed to
  build sequentially upon knowledge and skills\, and class participation is
  an integral part of the design. As a result\, we require participants to 
 attend both days from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.  Please plan your schedule so t
 hat you are able to attend the full training\, otherwise please cancel so 
 that others may have the benefit of this training.  If you need to be awa
 y less than an hour during the days\, please email kturner@clackamas.us 
 for advance approval and we will try to accommodate your situation on a ca
