  Skills Training.\n\nPlease note that the ASIST training is a two-day c
 lass\, it is delivered in person and participants are required to attend
  the full class on both days.   Due to national standards\, there are n
 o virtual options for this training.\n\nPlease read through this confirma

 raining teaches a specific suicide prevention intervention.  Some of the 
 content of the curriculum may trigger troubling feelings and thoughts. Th
 e class is not a form of counseling\, therapy or support group.   If you
  are a suicide attempt survivor or have experienced a loss by suicide\, w
 e suggest delaying taking the ASIST class for at least a year.   If you
  are currently experiencing thoughts of suicide\, please contact Clackama
 s County Crisis Line at 503 655-8585 or the National Suicide Prevention L
 ifeline at 1-800-273-8255\; they are both available 24 hours a day and 7 d
 ays a week.  If you have questions about whether this class is a good fit
  for you at the present time\, please call Kathy Turner\, Coordinator at 
 503 742-5962.   Thank you.\n\nPlease Note:  The Public Safety Training
  Center includes a shooting range and you can hear practice shooting in va
 rious parts of the facility. If this will impact you or your ability to ha
 ve a class here\, please cancel your registration and sign up for a class 
 at another facility.   Thank you.\n\nPlease Plan Your Commute:  Please 
 plan your commute so that you have time to park\, make your way to the tra
 ining room and can be seated by 8:30 am.   Thank you for your considerat
 ion. The training process will begin promptly at 8:30 am and ends at 4:30
  pm - please note participants who do not arrive on time may not be admit
 ted to the class.\n\nParking/Transportation: Visitors' parking is availab
 le in the designated visitors' lots adjacent to the Development Services
  Building on Beavercreek that can be accessed from Library Court off of 
 Beavercreek Road\; parking for Clackamas County employees is available in 
 the designated employee parking lots. Thank you for your cooperation! For

  Food: Lunch is on your own and there will be a 60-minute lunch break.  
  There are numerous restaurants within driving distance of the training l
 ocation. Please feel free to bring snacks\, lunch\, water bottle\, eating 
 utensils and anything else you will need for the day.  You will have acce
 ss to a microwave and refrigerator.  Water fountains are available in the
  building.\n\nAttire: Please feel free to wear comfortable clothes.  The
  temperature in the training room can vary and you may want to layer cloth
 ing in case it is warm or chilly.\n\nSeating:  Some people may prefer to 
 bring a seat cushion or pad to increase their comfort being seated a large
  part of the day on conference room chairs.\n\nRegistration: Please note 
 that classes are limited in size to provide the best experience for the tr
 ainees and to provide the training to fidelity. For this reason\, registra
 tions are specific to the individual who has signed up to attend the class
  and cannot be transferred to another person. If you know of others who

  required to attend the full training on both days to participate and t
 o receive certification.    The ASIST curriculum is designed to build s
 equentially upon knowledge and skills\, and class participation is an inte
 gral part of the design. As a result\, we require participants to attend b
 oth days from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.  Please plan your schedule so that you 
 are able to attend the full training\, otherwise please cancel so that oth
 ers may have the benefit of this training.  If you need to be away less t
 han an hour during the days\, please email kturner@clackamas.us for adva
 nce approval and we will try to accommodate your situation on a case by ca
