  Skills Training.\n\nPlease note that the ASIST training is a two-day c
 lass\, it is delivered in person and participants are required to attend
  the full class on both days.   Due to national standards\, there are n

 ST training teaches a specific suicide prevention intervention.  Some of 
 the content of the curriculum may trigger troubling feelings and thoughts.
  The class is not a form of counseling\, therapy or support group.   If
  you are a suicide attempt survivor or have experienced a loss by suicide
 \, we suggest delaying taking the ASIST class for at least a year.   If
  you are currently experiencing thoughts of suicide\, please contact Clac
 kamas County Crisis Line at 503 655-8585 or the National Suicide Preventio
 n Lifeline at 1-800-273-8255\; they are both available 24 hours a day and
  7 days a week.  If you have questions about whether this class is a good
  fit for you at the present time\, please call Kathy Turner\, Coordinator
  at 503 742-5962.   Thank you.\n\nPlease Note:  The Public Safety Trai
 ning Center includes a shooting range and you can hear practice shooting i
 n various parts of the facility. If this will impact you or your ability t
 o have a class here\, please cancel your registration and sign up for a cl
 ass at another facility.   Thank you.\n\nPlease Plan Your Commute:  Ple
 ase plan your commute so that you have time to park\, make your way to the
  training room and can be seated by 8:30 am.   Thank you for your consid
 eration. The training process will begin promptly at 8:30 am and ends at 
 4:30 pm - please note participants who do not arrive on time may not be a
 dmitted to the class.\n\nParking/Transportation: Visitors' parking is ava
 ilable in the designated visitors' lots adjacent to the Development Serv
 ices Building on Beavercreek that can be accessed from Library Court off
  of Beavercreek Road\; parking for Clackamas County employees is available
  in the designated employee parking lots. Thank you for your cooperation!

 mp\; Food: Lunch is on your own and there will be a 60-minute lunch break
 .   There are numerous restaurants within driving distance of the traini
 ng location. Please feel free to bring snacks\, lunch\, water bottle\, eat
 ing utensils and anything else you will need for the day.  You will have 
 access to a microwave and refrigerator.  Water fountains are available in
  the building.\n\nAttire: Please feel free to wear comfortable clothes. 
  The temperature in the training room can vary and you may want to layer c
 lothing in case it is warm or chilly.\n\nSeating:  Some people may prefer
  to bring a seat cushion or pad to increase their comfort being seated a l
 arge part of the day on conference room chairs.\n\nRegistration: Please n
 ote that classes are limited in size to provide the best experience for th
 e trainees and to provide the training to fidelity. For this reason\, regi
 strations are specific to the individual who has signed up to attend the c
 lass and cannot be transferred to another person. If you know of others

  are required to attend the full training on both days to participate an
 d to receive certification.    The ASIST curriculum is designed to bui
 ld sequentially upon knowledge and skills\, and class participation is an 
 integral part of the design. As a result\, we require participants to atte
 nd both days from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.  Please plan your schedule so that 
 you are able to attend the full training\, otherwise please cancel so that
  others may have the benefit of this training.  If you need to be away le
 ss than an hour during the days\, please email kturner@clackamas.us for 
 advance approval and we will try to accommodate your situation on a case b
