Classes are available for everyone who is 18 years or older; a requirement of the national training organizations.   Unfortunately, at this time, we do not have trainings for youth under 18 years.

Upon completion of your registration, a confirmation email will be sent with the address of the training venue. Please Note:  If you do not receive the confirmation message within a few minutes of registering for a class, please check your Spam or Junk E-Mail folder just in case the confirmation email got delivered there instead of your inbox. If so, select the confirmation message and mark it Not Spam, which should allow future messages to get through.

There will be times when certain trainings are not available or are in the process of being scheduled. If no classes are displayed, please check back for updates.

QPR trainings are available in two ways.   For individual registrations, please check the class listings below.   QPR trainings for groups are scheduled upon request.  Groups are encouraged for this introductory suicide prevention course. Please feel free to contact us and we'll get it set up!

Class Registration

Greetings Everyone,

Thank you for registering for QPR- Question, Persuade and Refer Suicide Prevention Training.

Please note the following:

Safety:   QPR training teaches a specific suicide prevention first aid intervention. Some of the content of the curriculum may bring up troubling feelings and thoughts. The class is not a form of counseling, therapy, or support group. If you are a suicide survivor or have experienced a loss by suicide, we suggest delaying taking the QPR class for at least a year. If you are currently experiencing thoughts of suicide, please contact one of the following:

  • Clackamas County Mental Health Crisis Line (503)655-8585

  • Multnomah County Behavioral Health Call Center (503)988-4888

  • Washington County Crisis Line (503)291-9111   OR

  • the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline 1-800-273-8255 or 988

All lines are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days per year. They are free and confidential.

Being Present for the training:

We’re so glad we can bring this training to you. To get the most out of the training, and our time together, we invite you to reflect on these questions prior to our training.

  • What are some things that you can keep on hand to bring you comfort during emotionally difficult conversations?

  • After the training, what are some things you can do to care for yourself? If you feel activated from the discussion, what or who in your environment can help soothe you?

Once the training ends, you will receive an email with a survey to complete, and a separate email from the QPR institute with brief questions and access to a QPR certificate. Please complete this as soon as possible.

If you have any questions or concerns, please let me know. Thank you for getting trained to help!

Best,

Canada
